Wasaga Nordic and Trail Centre

With 30 kilometres of trails, Wasaga Beach has some of the most interesting Nordic ski terrain in Central Ontario.Expert skiers will be challenged on the groomed and track-set “High Dunes Trail,” while leisure skiers can enjoy the “Blueberry Trail.” On a cold winter day, the Wasaga Nordic Centre provides modern equipment rentals, light snacks, a warm-up shelter, and outback ski shelters to warm up a lunch. White-tailed deer and winter birds abound, so a peaceful skier will be rewarded with wildlife viewing. If you only have a few hours to go hiking, the paths of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park are ideal. Some of them are hilly and steep. The majority of them are sand dunes with trees. There are many interesting hills and valleys, and some of the trail follows the river, with steep hills leading down to the river. (Be careful, because the only way you’ll stop is with a splash.) One of the best times to visit is in the winter. Because the paths are not clearly defined, keep track of where you’re going. If you become disoriented, simply walk in one direction until you reach a road or a river. Enjoy!
