Collingwood Arboretum

The Collingwood Arboretum is a lovely park with paved and natural hiking and biking pathways. It’s the perfect spot for special occasions, weddings, and celebrations. It is an important Botanical Park with historical records of coniferous and deciduous trees, shrubs, and plants (genealogy, habitat, common and botanical names). At Harbourview Park, the entrances are on Hickory Street or Cedar Street, both off First Street. The Collingwood Horticultural Society established and maintains the Collingwood Arboretum. The Arboretum, which spans five acres, was constructed on a former landfill. The Arboretum, which opened in 1995, is a major botanical park with historical records of coniferous and deciduous trees, as well as paved and natural hiking and bicycling routes. Over 150 trees have been purchased in honour of loved ones or to commemorate significant events. Each tree is marked by a plaque that includes the name of the individual who has been honoured as well as the common and Latin names of the tree.

We’ll take a stroll around the Arboretum and out through the playing fields near Cedar Street’s summit. Continue along the walkway to Sidelaunch Way, crossing Birch Street. To get to the corner of Hurontario Street and Shipyard Promenade, take Sidelaunch Way. You can either continue along Sidelaunch Way to Heritage Drive and the Museum, or proceed up Hurontario Street to downtown Collingwood’s stores, restaurants, and cafes.
