Nottawasaga River

The Nottawasaga River is the resting home of HMS Nancy, a merchant schooner taken into the Royal Navy during the War of 1812 . The hull is now preserved in a museum at Nancy Island Historic Site which is a part of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park .

The Nottawasaga River runs along the Bruce Trail in Hockley Valley Pronvincial Park, near Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. Wasaga Beach Ontario is well-known for summertime fun with boating, water skiing, jet-skiing, wake boarding, swimming, walking, paintball, and gorgeous sunsets. It has been concluded elsewhere that when the winter ice was sufficiently strong, travelers crossed the river on the ice downstream from Schoonertown, but at other times forded the river at an evident crossing place in Concession 14, Lot 7, Township of Sunnidale-Clearview (Garrad 1997b).

Groups for Anglers who love fishing the Nottawasaga River in the Simcoe County region of Ontario. It played a central part in the lives of the area’s First Nations peoples, was the route of famous explorers and played a significant role in the War of 1812.

Cool winds that come from Georgian Bay bring in some fresh air and keep visitors cool and comfortable. In route, a British prisoner told them about a supply depot a mile or so up the Nottawasaga River.
